Hello. I’m Jim W. Smith, owner of JazzLight Media and Jim Wright Smith photographer/writer. I have over 20 years experience in photography, writing, graphic design, video production, ad planning, and marketing.
I have developed ad campaigns and/or produced videos and other media for Sun-Maid Raisins, Shell Oil, Alf Christianson Seed, Korvan Industries, Cambridge Equipment, and many others.
My work (including the photography, writing, and graphic design) has appeared in publications in five countries (U.S., Canada, Australia, Spain, and Chile.
I also traveled to Brazil where I worked with a coffee cooperative to shoot video of coffee harvesters for Korvan Industries. Once back in the States, I produced the video in Portuguese.
So I offer, through this blog, free advice and tips in all aspects of communicating with your customers. You’ll find posts on marketing philosophy, planning an ad campaign, placing ads, writing news releases, and much more - even an occasional photo equipment review.
